It's so human to want to avoid those uncomfortable, overwhelming feelings, isn't it? We try so hard to push them away, to bury them, and before we know it, we've built a whole new layer of struggles, a whole new set of feelings that often don't serve us. That's where I believe therapy can help.
Think of it as a gentle vehicle, a safe space where we can begin to turn towards those feelings, to really feel them, to move through them, and ultimately, to reclaim the life we truly desire
You know, I've found that the real shift happens when we finally embrace the very feelings we've been trying so hard to avoid. That's when we truly start to move, to let go, and to find a little more peace.

Alright, let's be real, my mind? It's like a wanderlusting, daydreaming machine or is it ADHD? Tomato tomato right?! I could totally spend all day floating around in my head, conjuring up epic adventures and to-do lists that probably won't happen. So, fair warning, when we work together, you're gonna hear me say, "Dream with me for a sec," like, a lot. Because, honestly, picturing the future, letting your imagination run wild? That's where the good stuff, the real self-discovery, lives.
Okay, so, picture this: me, fresh-faced college kid, all set to be a teacher. I'm at orientation, right? And we're walking to the education building, you know, where all the future teachers hang out. But then, BAM! We pass the social work department. And it's like, my gut just went, "Nope. Wrong way, kiddo." Seriously, it was this weird, instant feeling, like, "That's it. That's where I belong." Some people might call it a calling, others, a total impulse buy of a career, but me? I'm going with intuition. Anyway, fast forward a few years, and I've got my BA in Social Work from Findlay, and then, because I apparently really liked school, I snagged my Master's from Ohio State in 2010. So yeah, that's how a would-be teacher ended up being a social worker. Blame it on my gut, or whatever, but it worked out pretty darn well.
I'm a feeler, like, a deep feeler, which, let's face it, can get a little… tricky. That's where yoga and meditation come in. They're the ones who keep me grounded, who help me slow down long enough to just… be. To sit with the present, to feel what's actually happening, instead of getting swept away by all those beautiful, but sometimes overwhelming, inner landscapes. So, let's dream a little, feel a little, and find some grounding together, shall we?

Therapy is a collaborative relationship between the client and the clinician. My approach to therapy is holistic, which allows me to provide a safe space in which my clients can explore and accept who they are. Because of my holistic approach, I implement mind, body, and spirit to help clients understand themselves as a whole person. To facilitate this process of self-discovery, I have a non-directive and supportive manner that encourages openness and trust in the therapeutic process.
I am a highly sensitive person, so I tend to be more aware of subtleties that go unnoticed by others. I am deeply moved by music and the arts. I tend to overthink, so I work to find ways to connect with my emotional self through grounding and being present.
American author and philosopher Howard Thurman said, “Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” I decided to become a therapist after spending a few years as a technical writer. My journey has not been a direct one, but helping others through therapy is something that makes me come alive. I want to help my clients discover what makes them come alive.

If your brain's a bit of a whirlwind, and you're tired of just talking about feelings, we might be a great fit. ADHD and neurospicy brains often thrive with movement and embodied experiences, and I’m passionate about bringing that into therapy. Forget sitting still for an hour! We'll explore how your body holds stress, process emotions through gentle movement, and tap into your sensory experience. We’ll work together to build strategies that honor your unique neurodiversity, and create a therapy space that feels like it fits you.
My path to social work was paved with spiritual exploration. A Master of Divinity deepened my understanding of the human condition, revealing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and soul. It's this compassionate, holistic perspective that informs my therapeutic approach. While I'm not a Christian counselor, my Master of Divinity provides a unique perspective, allowing for a deeper understanding of spiritual and existential themes that may arise in therapy.
I'm a creative soul, an artist, and a former dancer – and that's a big part of who I am as a therapist. Dance will always be my first love, and it taught me how deeply connected our minds and bodies are. This experience fuels my passion for mind-body connection therapy, helping clients find healing through movement and embodied presence.

Individual therapeutic yoga sessions are an opportunity to bring an empowering, experiential component to the therapeutic experience. When words aren't enough to fully access or describe an experience, movement can enrich your therapeutic work by integrating the benefits of emotional regulation, grounding, centering techniques, strength, balance, and a sense of release.
Amanda has a bachelor's degree in fine arts with a minor in psychology from UNT. She trained in Yoga and Yoga Therapy at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and the Ananda Seva Mission. Amanda has completed trainings in mindfulness based stress reduction, accessible yoga, and is currently finishing a comprehensive certificate in Pilates and personal training. She has been teaching in the mental health and addiction recovery space for over 12 years, and she teaches with an inclusive, accessible approach that integrates movement into life.
Movement is a bridge that connects our bodies and our minds, and moving mindfully can be an integrative process- enriching our lives and allowing us to become a more whole version of ourselves.

YACEP, Trauma Informed E-RYT 500, Mindful-Self Compassion Guide, Community Resiliency Model Teacher Trainer. Kierstin received her 200 hour in Dallas Texas which led her to Trauma informed yoga with Soulwork, and then a certification in Yoga Therapy with Breathing Deeply. She currently offers Trauma Sensitive Yoga at recovery spaces, juvenile Court, and crisis centers. Kierstin's goal is to empower individuals in finding what feels supportive to them by creating a space for curiosity and exploration vs. judgement (on and off the mat)!
As a trauma informed therapeuticyoga teacher I see the strength in empowering a person to find what feels supportive to them. To foster their choice and experience by holding space for their curiosity and exploration vs. judgement. I believe that this experience can begin to translate off the mat and be integral to someone's journey and recovery.
